Industrial Tape Selection Guide
Technical selection should be based on the actual process conditions, not just one maximum-temperature number.
1. Backing Material
PET, polyimide and glass cloth offer different heat, mechanical and electrical characteristics.
2. Adhesive System
Silicone and acrylic adhesives have different process and insulation characteristics.
3. Temperature + Time
For masking applications, always consider dwell time together with temperature.
4. Dielectric Requirement
Use dielectric-strength data where electrical insulation is part of the application.
5. Surface / Substrate
Surface finish, cleanliness, material and geometry affect practical performance.
6. Sample Test
Validate adhesion, removal, fit and process compatibility in the real production environment.
